Welcome to the world, it's what you've got Though some of us have got, and some have not. It's all lighter than a feather, but heavier than sin And if you've got the nickel, we'd be glad to let you in [or out!] spoken: Is this seat taken? Welcome to the world the cost is high Admission price? The twinkle from your eye! Steal and cheat and murder, no that you'd never do! Mistreat poor orphan children, might that possibly be you? [or you!] spoken: I like your sneakers. Did you make them yourself? So why not… Pat yourself on the back, Give yourself a break. Oh… Nothing shines like a smile! [aside]: But you and I know that the smile is fake. spoken: sing with me Welcome to the world, it's what you've got, Nothing's quite the way you might have thought It's all lighter than a feather, but heavier than sin, And it isn't how you play the game, by God, it's how you win! [or lose] Welcome to the world, it's what you've got, Nothing's quite the way you might have thought It's all lighter than a feather, but heavier than sin, And everyone can play the game, but only one can win! You lose! You lose! You lose! Who wins?

Oh relax, we're just having a good time...aren't we? Nothing's going to happen, Nothing ever does. We think the world's a scary place, And close our eyes because… There's darkness at the end of every hallway. And a bogey at the bottom of the stairs… Nothing's going to happen So put yourself at ease, Don't think of global warming, Mad cows or killer bees. Silly bunnies, Are you frightened by your shadows? Do you hear voices as they whisper on the wind? The newspapers make such a fashion of disaster, Terrifying tales of gore abound… for someone else. We'll go to hell in a handbag, as this world keeps spinning faster. Soon they'll be nothing left to fear, 'cept me and you… And fear itself! Nothing's going to happen, Nothing ever does. We think the world's a scary place, And close our eyes because… There's darkness at the end of every hallway. And the boogey man is climbing up the stairs….

There isn't anybody in, Or anybody out It's a hokey pokey limbo And we all just dance about. We're not so high above Not quite down below But the somewhere in-between, Is where the cracks all start to show… It's our own little hell, [ooo, ooo] You've got yours, I've got mine, she's got hers as well It's our own little hell, [ooo, ooo] So familiar, yet somehow strange No place like home, but kinda like a home on the range. [sizzle!] It seems that everything is black Or everything is white. But it's really gray all over, Like a tomcat in the night There's one foot in the parlour, And one foot in the pen. Gone the days of innocence, We can't go back again We've got our own little hell, [ooo, ooo] You've got yours, I've got mine, she's got hers as well It's our own little hell, [ooo, ooo] So confusing, but it all makes sense. You're going to get dizzy when you're walking the fence! You're in the middle, gonna shake, gonna shake, Gonna shake it all around! [hokey pokey, do the hokey pokey] You lost a screw? Lost your bearing? Lost your mind? You're bound to be… Looking for your soul in the lost and found?

I see a little something in you, a cherry in the pie We've got a lot in common, baby, maybe more than meets the eye. Everyone has secrets in the closet, high upon the shelf You can hide some things, from some folks, sometimes… but you can't hide them from yourself…or those who know… Rat da da dat! rat da da dat! Rat da da dat, da dat! I know [oh my God, you know?] You've got a little secret…[I don't know what you're talking about?] Yes, I know [what do you know?] It might be easier to keep it? [Keep what? Keep my mouth shut?] To tell? [Yes, to tell!] Or not to tell? [Or not tell?!] Now that may be the question. [Oh, the right thing to do is such a mystery!…] But to keep, [I can't sleep!] This thing inside, [it's bad for my health!] It's worse than indigestion! [And I don't want to end up with dysentery?! What is that even?!] Rat da da dat! rat da da dat! Rat da da dat, da dat! You know… [of course I know] About the skeletons in my closet? [Ha! Darling, I know each one, by name!] I hear them shriek and laugh, With every bank deposit! [They're skeletons, it's what they do, they're not to blame] But to tell… [Who would you tell?] And lose control… [And tell the truth?] That could bring us all…to ruin! Or to sell… [there's always a price] To sell my soul… [I sold my youth] Bubble, bubble, boil, there's trouble brewin! Tell 'em the truth, show 'em the lies, They cover their ears and eyes! To tell, or not to tell Is definitely the question. But to keep, it all inside, Is no petty indiscretion! Nancy: I wish there was something that could help me think clearly… Kelowna: Well look around, doll… maybe there is…. The truth is beautiful, It lights the darkest night A star guiding ships to shore A beacon burning bright The truth is beautiful, It shines a burning flame It sings, and rings from trembling lips So like a lover's name.

We're waiting. don't keep us waiting! We're waiting, don't keep us waiting! We're here We've always been here Just watching From the other side. The doorway, You made the doorway. So come on through it, No reason left to hide. Patient, We've been so patient. Let's do the deal, It's time to come to terms. Good girl, Just be a good girl. Cross the threshold, it's your turn, To feed the worms! Midnight, high noon, somewhere in between Yesterday will sparkle 'til tomorrow comes clean The worms are in the apple and it's rotten to the core. You're dizzy from the Fall? Let me help you to the door… We're waiting. don't keep us waiting! We're waiting, don't keep us waiting! We're still here, We've always been here. Just observing, from the other side. Your secret, That dirty secret. She tried to share it, Before she could, she died. Murder? Too much knowledge? Something greater, Neither here nor there… Mystery? Simply madness? It matters little, we know… Life isn't fair!
